DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be required to go to rehab either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high later on. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
