DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. This can truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug abuse when they drive while intoxicated down the road.
