DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence in the future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
