Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation program on account of a drug or alcohol related offense. This can occur for example when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime which has led a legal court to think the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered from the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they are able to to get the most from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be completely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment center which has been ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences.
