DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehab due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of staying out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated down the road. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
