Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug rehab center due to alcohol or drug related crime. This will occur for example if someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to believe the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the court it's wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be totally eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug treatment program that has been ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who take part in rehab in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
