Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol treatment facility due to alcohol or drug related offense. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment facility that is ordered for them. Very first time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who take part in rehabilitation instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties.
