DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that those who are treated for substance abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
