Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehab facility because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for example if a person is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led a legal court to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the court it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences might be totally eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which was ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehabilitation.
