DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug and alcohol rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could possibly be required to go to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that people who are treated for substance abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse should they drive while under the influence down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
