Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab center as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This can occur for example when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the judge it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab center which was ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that take part in treatment in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective treatment.
