DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system.
