Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime that has led the court to think that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered through the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility which has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
