DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse should they drive while intoxicated later on.
