Outpatient treatment gives treatment clients the chance to maintain certain obligations and elements of their way of life while getting involved in drug treatment services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate amount of rehabilitation, and shouldn't be mistaken for the degree of rehabilitation offered within an inpatient or residential treatment setting which is significantly more extensive. Outpatient treatment may be suited to someone who has a short history of drug or alcohol use for instance, but will most surely not be adequate for a person whose rehabilitation needs exceed what outpatient treatment is able to provide.
