Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of alcohol and drug treatment facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for instance when someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the court to believe the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment program that is ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
