Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab center because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example if someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime that has led the court to believe the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it is well advised that the individual try everything they can to make the most of this chance. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment center that has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful treatment.
