Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility due to a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the court to think the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug rehabilitation facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who experience rehab instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
