DUI/DWI clients who are involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug treatment as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their substance abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
