DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but usually in drug rehab due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse.
