Long-term rehabs that provide rehabilitation for 30 days are more offer an intensely therapeutic setting for client's whose needs require this, as is the situation with many individuals with a substantial track record of substance abuse. It's the consensus among rehab professionals, and experience has shown, that folks with significant drug abuse histories have much higher long-term success rates when the treatment length is 30 days or longer. Much more substantial benefits can be experienced for those clients who remain in long-term residential rehab for 3 months or longer. The intensive treatment plans set up at long-term residential rehabs may be more time consuming for treatment professionals and the client, but anything less has been proven to be insufficient. This is simply because anything less than 30 days is barely going to scratch the surface of any substance abuse issue that may haunt the individual when they leave rehabilitation. Just becoming physically stable may take many days or perhaps a few weeks, but a significant amount of time afterwards is required to handle the environmental, emotional, and psychological facets of their addiction which may cause a relapse whenever they leave an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility.
