Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug and alcohol rehab center as a result of alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for example if someone else is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related offense that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the judge it is well advised that the individual try everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug rehab program which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
