DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence later on.
