Not every person has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered by the court it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences might be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol treatment center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehabilitation instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
