DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol treatment as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their substance abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
