Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol treatment facility due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other kind of drug related crime that has led the judge to believe the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they are able to to get the most from this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug rehab center which has been ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
