Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center due to alcohol or drug related offense. This will happen for example if a person is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to think the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment program that has been ordered for them. First time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
