Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of drug rehabilitation facility as a result of alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for instance when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the alcohol and drug treatment program which has been ordered for them. Very first time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that take part in treatment in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
