Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a result of alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for instance when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led the judge to believe the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they're able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment facility that is ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
