Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug treatment center as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for instance if a person is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to believe that the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that has been ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that take part in treatment instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
